Where is a good place to vacation near Houston, Texas?

We are going on a trip this summer so we want something nice, but at a reasonable price. At least 3 stars and nothing under 0 a night, no motel 6s either. I have looked every where and I am running out of time as Spring Break is fast-approaching. We want it at the most with-in an 8-hour drive from Houston, but if you have something great than go ahead and post it. Places that sound good to us:
-B & B
-Ranch
-Horse bach riding ranch
-Places with Skiing
-Beaches(no galveston type beaches)
-No more than 0 a night
-Kid-friendly
OK, thanks for any suggestions. I know it sounds a little picky but we havn’t been on a good vacation in a while!
Thanks in Advance!

(p.s. 10 points promised to whoever has the best place!)

best skiing in colorado?

im taking a trip up to colorado to stay with my aunt and so far i am completely clueless! i love to ski and i love to be by huge mountains, the last time i went skiing was at nakiska in the canadian rockies so ive kinda built up high expectations which is a problem. the places ive heard about that have good skiing around february are breckenridge, vail, winter park/ mary jane, and steamboat? any recommendations? i just want to go to an overall fun place and that has great skiing and lots of snow, im hoping thats not too much to ask. price really isnt a problem and im staying with my aunt so if any of these places require you to rent a room in order to ski there, than please let me know. im doing this so far ahead time because i dont want to have to worry about finding all the info out a month before its time to go. and yes i know, i keep asking the same questions on here but i cant ever seem to make up my mind and im not getting enough answers from people to make a valid decision. so can someone please give me a great recommendation for where to ski. these places really catch my eye and i cant choose my favorite.

we are boarders who want – awesome powder, great boardpark, semi-lively nightlife, atmosphere. We have been thinking of Banff. Is Whistler as good as it is made out to be?? We are 26, a couple and want to have the best time ever.

How is Jet Skiing on the Salton Sea, CA?

i read on several sites that the Salton Sea allows jet skiing. I live in NJ and i have been to San Diego and i loved it there. I was thinking about moving and since i jetski here in jersey I would like to find a great place to jetski near San Diego. I was wondering if anyone has been there to jetski? how is the water, flat or choppy? is it cold? is it clean? Are there available slips at docks and are there launching ramps?

Where can I go for my honeymoon with snow and great nightlife.?

I live in Miami and never seen real swow fall before. Looking for a nice place to go at the end of the year in the us. I am looking for a place that will almost guarantee snow and also have great places to eat and things to do at night. We are a young couple so night clubs would be something we would do a night or two. Looking to be there about a week. Also my wife to be is not a good skier and I am a beginer but we do want to do some skiing. Where would you suggest.
